Design brief
Whether you are looking for an office, gym, games room, multi-purpose space or extra living room, one of our Garden Room experts will guide you through the design process to ensure your individual requirements are met.
Production of design drawings & quotation
We will produce a 3D model drawing of your bespoke Garden Room in order for you to visualise how your finished garden building will look. As well as a detailed itemised quotation, we will provide you with an array of options to enable you to hit your budget.
Manufacturing process
Once all items have been agreed, we commence the manufacturing process in our own workshops to your exact specification. This process ensures all materials can be quality checked prior to
on-site installation.
Base Building
Back in your garden, we’ll begin the installation of foundations and timber insulated base (we normally use a ground screw foundation base due to its low environmental impact and speed of installation). Once this is completed and signed off by our quality team, we are ready for the Garden Room installation.
Quality Control Checks
Final quality control checks of fully assembled Garden Building in workshop. This is then dismantled and prepared for delivery.
Building Your Garden Room
Once your Garden Room arrives on site, our skilled team will commence construction. Typical installation time from this point in the process is between 10 and 15 days.
Completion & Guarantee’s
Upon completion, we make final quality checks to ensure it meets our exacting standards. We then issue Certification and guarantees. Each garden building comes with a full 10-year construction guarantee and electrical compliance test certification. Your Green Room is handed over to you for your future enjoyment.
Frequently asked questions
Do we need planning permission for our garden room?
Planning permission is not normally required; our buildings fall under permitted development (built under 2.5m high externally). Our garden buildings do not require building regulations approval either.
The opportunity to extend your home without planning permission or building regulations approval, enables us to install your garden quickly and cost-effectively…..saving money, time and stress!
However, should planning be required, we will be more than happy to help with the process. Don’t let the need for planning put you off as planning as 95% of applications are approved.
When might I need planning permission?
The need for planning permission is generally dependent on where you live and not related to the garden room building itself.
Most areas in the UK do not require planning permission for a garden room. If you live in a listed building, flat, maisonettes or SSSI (site of special scientific interest) then you will require planning permission for your building – otherwise you shouldn’t need it.
There are also considerations for those who live in AONBs and Conservation areas that affect where your green room can be built in your garden – but it does not affect your rights to have a garden room.
